Vimeo Releases New “Netflix-Style” Creator Streaming Service

Vimeo is diving into the world of streaming and empowering creators to elevate their long-form content with its latest launch. Last week, the video platform debuted Vimeo Streaming, which allows creators to build their own “Netflix-style” streaming service. 

One of the key selling points of Vimeo Streaming is the ability for creators to build streaming services and apps with zero coding experience, lowering the barrier to entry for creators looking to explore new monetization opportunities. The service offers tiered membership plans that provide benefits such as access to live events and exclusive merchandise. Vimeo Streaming also includes custom video bumpers for promoting specific projects or campaigns, piracy protection, advanced data analytics, and AI-powered translations to support global reach.

“With our new Vimeo Streaming release, we are giving creators more ways to connect with and gain a deeper understanding of their audiences, more ways to monetize their content, and higher grade security,” stated Vimeo CEO Philip Moyer. “We believe creators should be in control of their work and how they are paid; so we’re taking the technologies that are usually only afforded by the biggest platforms and putting it in the hands of our customers, at a fraction of the cost.”

Dude Perfect Launches New Sour Apple BodyArmor

Dude Perfect’s latest partnership with BodyArmor has made a splash in the sports beverage industry. Last week, BodyArmor launched its newest Sour Apple flavor, the brand’s first-ever sour sports hydration drink, in collaboration with Dude Perfect. The magnetic crew of YouTube stars announced and promoted the must-try flavor in a series of videos, including a TikTok unboxing the “glowing” green bottle. 

Dude Perfect’s relationship with Body Armor began back in 2024 when they first announced their new roles as Official Hydration Partners. “Our brands are actually super complementary — we’re lucky enough to have such an engaged fanbase, many of which are young athletes — and BODYARMOR was the first brand to successfully come to market with a sports drink that didn’t have anything artificial in it — perfect for young athletes,” shared Dude Perfect member Tyler Toney. 

Last July, Dude Perfect launched its Perfect Pop beverage with BodyArmor, which was met with overwhelming support from fans. According to Tubefilter, the Perfect Pop launch served as a test to see if a long-term partnership between the sports drink brand and Dude Perfect would be beneficial. Now, Dude Perfect is locking in to promote their third BodyArmor product collab and fully dedicate themselves to uplifting the legacy brand.

You can try out Sour Apple BodyArmor now for only $1 a bottle at Walmart and select retailers nationwide. Sour Apple is available for a limited time only on Rollback until July 6th, as per Dude Perfect.

TikTok Launches New Specialized Rewards Program

Top-performing creators have even more reason to embrace TikTok as a core social channel with the launch of its latest reward program. TikTok’s new Specialized Rewards Program is paying creators to make content in “high-traffic niches,” which include film & TV, automotive, education, and sports.

TikTok shared in a recent Instagram post that its Specialized Rewards Program is not to be confused with its flagship Creator Rewards Program, which allows qualifying creators to monetize videos longer than 1 minute. Instead, the TikTok Specialized Rewards Program will distribute bonus earnings for creators who produce “standout, high-quality content,” meaning that rewards can be earned on top of a creator's earnings from the Creator Rewards Program.

As shared by TikTok, only invited creators can join the SRP bonus program. TikTok encourages uninvited creators interested in joining the SRP to “get a head start by enrolling in the Creator Rewards Program, and start honing in on [their] specialized niche.” TikTok has yet to share the qualities that determine whether or not a creator is invited to the program, but creators who join have the opportunity to earn three times the rewards for making content they love.

New AI & Editing Tools Coming to YouTube Shorts

New creator tools and features are coming to YouTube Shorts! YouTube recently announced via its official blog a suite of new editing and AI tools coming to Shorts, empowering creators to unleash new angles of their creativity and explore content creation with AI. 

This spring, YouTube Shorts creators will get a powerful new in-app editor with precise clip adjustments, music syncing to the beat, and upgraded templates that now support photo uploads and effects. YouTube is also introducing new expressive tools like image and AI-generated stickers, making it easier than ever for creators to personalize and elevate their Shorts.

Additionally, YouTube is introducing a new feature that lets users create AI-generated background music using text prompts, according to an update shared on its Creator Insider channel. Creators will be able to describe the type of music they want, generate it, and then download the track to use in their videos utilizing the new feature.
